Undergraduate Studies in the Shcool of Social Sciences offers a variety of non-academic resources and student programs designed to support students’ well-being, engagement, and professional growth beyond the classroom.
For personal and wellness needs, students can connect with campuswide services such as the Campus Assist List, which links to counseling and disability support, as well as UCI-wide volunteer opportunities and registered campus organizations that foster community involvement and leadership development. These resources help students build connections, engage in service, and access support for both emotional wellness and practical life challenges during their undergraduate years.
In addition, the School of Social Sciences offers dedicated programs that help students grow professionally and socially. The Social Sciences Academic Resource Center (SSARC) provides career and internship support, individualized guidance on postgraduate planning, and workshops to develop professional skills—all aimed at preparing students for life after graduation. Peer support plays an important role too, with Peer Academic Advisors available to help students navigate academic and administrative questions from a student perspective. Beyond these, students can participate in school-affiliated organizations and special programs (such as summer leadership or honor society groups) that enhance their campus experience, cultivate leadership abilities, and strengthen peer networks.
